Tahltan Nation Development Corporation is partnering with the Tahltan Central Government, the Province of British Columbia and Industry to create the Tahltan Nation Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program (HEO).

APPLICATION REQUIRMENTS
Before you are eligible for the Heavy Equipment Operator Program, you need to have your Class 5 driver’s licenses.
The Tahltan Drivers Licence Training Program can help you obtain these licences with DL Pro Driving School.

GRADUATED LICENSING
What are the Differences?
A Class 5 or Class 7 Driver's Licence allows you to drive
Cars, vans, trucks, construction, utility vehicles (2 axles maximum) and motorhomes (may exceed 2 axles)
Tow trailers or vehicles up to 4,600kg
Ride a limited speed motorcycle or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV)
Ride 3-wheeled vehicles but does not include 3-wheeled motorcycles (trikes) or motorcycle/sidecar combinations
The Class 5 & 7 Driver’s Licence Training Program includes
4 evenings of in classroom training (Mon. to Thur. from 6:30pm – 8:30pm) or 3 full days of training (Fri. to Sun. from 9:00am – 4:00pm) to support passing the written test
Support from Contact North BC to assist with paperwork/ identification required to write the learners test
In-vehicle training with DL Pro Driving School
Support from DL Pro Driving School to get a road test booked April 19th & 20th in Dease Lake
Funding is available to cover the costs of the training, the learners exam & the road test.

The Class 4 Driver’s Licence Training Program includes
4 evenings of online training
(Mon. to Thur. from 6:30pm – 8:30pm)Support from Contact North BC to assist with paperwork required to write the class 4 learners test
Support from TCG Tourism Department to use the passenger van in preparation for the road test for
those in Tahltan TerritorySupport from Contact North BC to get a road test booked Apr. 19th & 20th for those in Tahltan Territory
Funding is available to cover the costs of the training, the learners exam & the road test.
Dates
The training will run from February 6th to 9th (online)
Eligibility Requirements
Tahltan or Tahltan associates living in or outside of Territory
19 years of age or older
Class 5 drivers licence for at least 3 years
Less than 4 penalty points in the last 2 years
No driving related criminal convictions within
the past three yearsMust be available to attend all 4 evenings
(Feb. 6th to 9th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm)Completed application must be received by Feb 1st, 2023
